Increasing the price of petrol is the best way to solve the growing traffic and pollution problems. To what extent do you agree or disagree with the statement? What other measures do you think might
be effective?

Nowadays, traffic and pollution are quite serious problems. To solve that it is considered that government should increase the price of petrol. According to me, although these problems can be solved by doing so, people will have to face many other problems. So I don't agree with it. I, in upcoming paragraphs, will share my point of view.

Actually, inflation has increased significantly everywhere and people have to struggle a lot to meet their needs even basic too. If in this situation, the government Rises fuel prices, that would be a serious problem for locals. It is because people have to use cars and motorbikes as the lifestyle of almost every second person is pretty hectic and they have to move from one place to another. So willingly or unwillingly they have to use such
vehicles either the price is high, normal or low. In short, I would say that we would not have any positive results by increasing the price of fuel even if it would create problems for individuals.

I think by improving public transport the problem of traffic and pollution can be solved. To explain this, people use their own vehicles just because these are pretty comfortable and a convenient source of transport, however, if the government invest some money to make public transport better, a share number of people will go for that. As a result, less number of vehicles would be on the roads.

In conclusion, people will not stop using their cars, if the price of petrol increases. However, by providing good public transport these problems can be eliminated.
