Some people think that the government should not knock down old buildings and make way for new buildings. Do you agree or disagree?
It is believed that old buildings should be superseded by modern ones. These hold historical importance and are a significant source of earning money. Thus, I discord with the statement. In the upcoming paragraphs, I shall argue why old establishments should not be knocked down.
Undoubtedly, these buildings reflect past life, habits, and lessons people can learn from and can improve life. Culture is represented by a few things in modern society as everything is getting western touch. Therefore, it is imperative to maintain such creations in order to preserve our culture. Secondly, maintenance of past building establishments is relatively lower in comparison with the cost of erecting new buildings. It is revealed a few weeks ago that the maintenance of the Taj Mahal per year is around 2.5 billion only while making new buildings can cost 100 times more so it is a waste of precious government money that can be utilised in other sectors such as education and hospitalization.
Furthermore, these locations are the best source of revenue income for the government. Tourists visit different places and their spending helps the government to improve the infrastructure of the country. Moreover, tourists show their interest in purchasing handicrafts which results in the growth of a small-scale industry. It increases the flow of foreign money. Above all questions, it is quite apparent that tourists visit leads to good bonding among people across the world.
In conclusion, I feel that preserving historical sites means saving the history of the country. It has Paramount importance because of its array of benefits for existing and future generations.
