Lack of fresh water is becoming a global issue of increasing importance. What problem does this shortage cause? what measures could be taken to overcome these problems?

The shortage of water has become an alarming issue since the last decade and more warning is the growing demand for water. Certainly, it has some reasons including the increasing number of people and industries. Everything will be discussed thoroughly below along with solutions.

The leading reason behind the increasing shortage of water is overpopulation. The number of people has risen dramatically in the last 10 to 15 years and surprisingly no area is an exception. This boom in population has led to many opportunities globally, however, it has augmented the usage of water. The water used in agriculture, industrialisation, homes, celebrations and other areas now is much times bigger than two decades back. That is the main cause behind the shortage of water at the global level and upcoming threats to human civilization.

Undeniably, it would be quite hard to solve it at the ground level, while concerted efforts from government, industries, people and other authorities can do the trick. As the problem lies in overpopulation. So, First of all, the government should make policies that discourage the population or limit the birth rate. Likewise, in China, where people who have more than one child are kept deprived of government facilities, other Nations can go this way. Not only this, but Industries also have to be regulated strictly by the government to avoid the wastage and overconsumption of water. Besides them, people also need to support this campaign as a significant part of the water is also used at home worldwide.

In conclusion, the shortage of water in many regions is a grave issue and will be graver if not taken seriously. To solve this, everyone has to contribute to this journey and every individual irrespective of being rich or poor should have an equal role.
