What do you think are the strengths and weaknesses of the education system in your country? Use your own experience to support your idea.

The education system in my country has improved a lot over the last few years however it still has some weaknesses. In this essay, I shall highlight some of the positives and negatives of the Indian education system.

On the positive side, the education system in my country has always been helpful to needy students.  A lot of schemes have been introduced to make sure every student shall get proper education irrespective of religion, gender, skin colour and financial status. Not only this, students who perform better in exams are given 100% scholarship for their further education. Secondly, the curriculum is also culture friendly. Some of the cultural subjects like Hindi, Punjabi, history and some others are made mandatory in schools and even some colleges which keep the students connected to their culture.

On the negative side, it puts a lot of burden on students. Every day in schools, students are given an abundance of homework that doesn't allow them to pursue sports or other physical activities. As a result, a lot of Indian children are facing some health problems like weak eyesight, obesity mainly. Apart from that, the teaching ways are also outdated. A significant proportion of the school curriculum is based on theoretical knowledge which keeps students deprived of practical experience. Therefore, many students in India do not get job opportunities after completing their education.

In conclusion, the education system in my hometown is profitable for Poor students and also for culture however it has some demerits like it puts excessive pressure on students and educators teach in traditional ways.
